 Thoughts on a Monday

The temperature outside is steadily on the rise. That means that more and more people are being attracted to the water. Whether it be the lake, a backyard pool, or a splash-pad, the summer activities will soon be in full swing!  Lot of us plan our vacations based on the destination’s proximity to a body of water. Our family goes to a lake in Arkansas every summer. The kids love to take boat rides and hike the mountain trails to see the waterfalls.

Water is a great way to cool off, but it is also essential for life. Many ancient civilizations were situated on great bodies of water. The average person should be drinking between 2-3 liters of water per day. There is nothing better than a refreshing glass of water on a hot day! However, even if your thirst is quenched for a time… there will come a point where you will need water again.

In John chapter 4 it says: Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

When was the last time that your thirst was quenched entirely? Jesus offers us a different type of water. If you receive a drink from Jesus, you don’t have to come back for another. His is a water that renews our spirit and keeps us going. His living water becomes its own everlasting well. Thirst no more.

As you go out into the world this week, and encounter all of the burdens that life has to offer, reach for the everlasting well. He provides the living water freely and willingly to all!

Have a great week!
